 Dr. Vryghem is one of the few Belgian ophthalmologists equipped with an Excimer laser of the latest generation in his own premises, the WaveLight Allegretto Wave excimer laser. Since July 2004, Dr. Vryghem is privileged to be the first eye surgeon in Begium who performs laser treatments with its successor, the new WaveLight Allegretto Wave Eye-Q400. With this ultra modern laser, refractive surgery can be performed with even more precision and speed. Other eye care services provided by Dr. Vryghem's team are described as well.

In October 2006, Dr. Vryghem was the first eye surgeon in Belgium to perform Femto-LASIK (LASER-IN SITU KERAOMILEUSIS). With this LASIK treatment the corneal flap is made without a blade, but with a Femtosecond laser instead, which makes the procedure even safer and the flaps thinner with a higher predictability in flap thickness.   Dr. J.C. Vryghem participates to congresses on European and American level and as a member of the direction comity of the BSCRS, he organised a session of "Life Surgery" from the St Jean hospital in Brussels: The BSCRS Winter Meeting on the 26th of January 2008. The following international surgeons were present: Dr. Maluygin (Russia), Dr. Stodulka (Czech Republic) Dr. Wehner (Germany), Dr. Lehmann (Germany), Dr. Meurs (Netherlands), Dr. Lesieur (France) and Dr. Araujo Gomes (Portugal).

 On 16 September 2008, Dr. Vryghem was invited to Berlin in order to demonstrate his latest technique in cataract surgery during the 'Live surgery Session' of the annual 'European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons' (ESCRS).

 On 23 October 2008 in Moscow, Dr. Vryghem again proved his knowledge in cataract surgery during the 'Live Surgery session' of the 'IXth Congress of Modern Technologies in Cataract and Refractive Surgery', an annual congress organised by the S. Fyodorov Eye Microsurgery State Institution. 

 After an  in-dept reorganisation and several audits by Lloyd's Register Quality Assurance, Brussels Eye Doctors have obtained ISO-9001:2000 certifying in July 2006, as well as ISO-9001:2008 certifying in June 2009, for the practice's Quality Management System.
